In our last lesson with Shiho you learned how to use “～そうだ” to convey rumours and hearsay. Sadly, today is going to be our last lesson with Shiho, and thus we will review some of the topics we have learned with Shiho during the last few months. You can also use this article as a final test after watching all the videos and reading all the articles!

In today’s last lesson we will take a look at some of the things we’ve learned, especially those that are a bit more difficult or where learners tend to make lots of mistakes. In order to do that we will pose some questions about different topics - all of the answers are at the bottom of each section, so don’t scroll too far so you don’t spoil the correct answers. [Declining/Conjugating verbs, nouns & adjectives]
For our next exercise we will give you some verbs, nouns and adjectives. Please decline/conjugate them from their 普通形 or normal form to their polite present and past form, normal present and past form, negative present and past form as well as te-form.Here is an example:
かわいい
（Adjective type: い形容詞、Polite form present/past: かわいいです／かわいかったです、Normal form present/past: かわいい／かわいかった、Negative form present/past: かわいくない／かわいくなかった、Te-form: かわいくて）

[A note about quotation]
When using the normal form (sometimes also called short form), you have to add “だ” to Na-adjectives and nouns (e.g. 綺麗だ, 休みだ). Many people do this wrong especially when using quotation (like “Aさんが～だと言っていた”, or “私は～だと思う”), leaving out the “だ”. When the ～ is replaced by a Na-adjective or noun, please do not forget the “だ”[Situational Exercise]
