Japanese Grammar: ないで ず

Before starting the exercise for expressing "without" 「ないで」「ず」, please clarify any doubts you may have about the grammatical rules by referring to your grammar guidebook or dictionary. Instantaneous Composition Exercise for Expressing "Without" 「ないで」「ず」

This is not a translation exercise. This is the Instantaneous Composition Exercise. As if a reflexive action, try to create an equivalent Japanese sentence shortly after reading an English script. Try not to think for more than three seconds.

ごはんをべないでえいます。
(I will) build a house without borrowing money.
かねりないでいえてます。 
(I’m) studying without reading a book. 
ほんまないでべんきょうしています。
(I’m) running without wearing a jacket.
うわないではしっています。
(I) sold the table without repairing (it). 
なおさないでつくえりました。 
(I) played baseball without practicing. 
れんしゅうせずにきゅうをしました。 
(I) went out without deciding the schedule. 
ていめずにかけました。 
(I will) go to school without sleeping today. 
今日きょうずに学校がっこうきます。
(I will) go to bed without turning off the light. 
でんさずにます。 
As for Japanese, (you) cannot understand (it) without knowing Hiragana. 
ひらがなをらずにほんかいできません。 

Note

「ないで」 and 「ず」 have the same meaning. However, ず slightly sounds more formal.
