Before starting the exercise for expressing contradiction 「が」「けど」, please clarify any doubts you may have about the grammatical rules by referring to your grammar guidebook or dictionary. The Instantaneous Composition Method requires you to compose sentences with the target sentence pattern(s) over and over in order to use them almost effortlessly. Instantaneous Composition Exercise for Expressing Contradiction 「が」「けど」

This is not a translation exercise. This is the Instantaneous Composition Exercise. As if a reflexive action, try to create an equivalent Japanese sentence shortly after reading an English script. Try not to think for more than three seconds.

Tanaka-san is young, but always polite.
なかさんはわかいけど、いつも丁寧ていねいです。
This book is important, but (I will) sell (it).
このほん大切たいせつだけど、ります。
Work is easy, but (it’s) not fun.
ごとらくだけど、たのしくありません。
(I will) go to Japan, but as for Tokyo, (I won’t) go (there).
ほんくけど、とうきょうきません。
(I) often sing songs, but (I’m) not very good at singing.
うたをよくうたうけど、あまり上手うまくありません。 
Japanese is difficult, but interesting.
ほんむずかしいですが、面白おもしろいです。
Summer is hot, but (I) like (it).
なつあついですが、きです。
This restaurant is famous, but not delicious.
このレストランは有名ゆうめいですが、美味おいしくありません。
(I) looked (it) up, but didn’t understand (it).
調しらべましたが、わかりませんでした。
(I will) live in Japan, but as for Japanese, (I) won’t study (it).
ほんみますが、ほんべんきょうしません。
