北風きたかぜはおどろきました。太陽たいようがマントを簡単かんたんに脱ぬがせたからです。おれの風かぜでは脱ぬがせることが出で来きなかったのに、なぜ太陽たいようはマントを脱ぬがせることができたんだ？太陽たいようは言いいました。「北風きたかぜは男おとこの気持きもちを考かんがえていなかったよね？力ちからを使つかうだけだと人ひとは動うごかないよ。人ひとの気持きもちを考かんがえないといけないんだ。」北風きたかぜはそれを聞きいて、言いいました。「わかった。君きみはおれより強つよいよ。」とうとう二人ふたりの長ながかったケンカは終おわりました。人ひとに何なにかをさせるときや、お願ねがいするときは、北風きたかぜのように力ちからを見みせるだけではうまくいきません。太陽たいようのように人ひとの気持きもちを考かんがえることが大切たいせつです。

English Translation

The North Wind was surprised because the Sun easily made him take off his cloaks. [The North Wind thought] “my wind was unable to make him take it off. Why was the Sun able to make him take off his cloaks?” The Sun said, “You didn't guess his feelings, did you? If you just use your power, people don’t move. You have to guess people’s feelings.” The North Wind listened to it and then said, “Okay. You are stronger than me.” The long argument finally finished. When you make people do something or request for something, just showing your power doesn’t work well like the North Wind. It’s important to guess people’s feelings like the Sun.
