Hi, I am Saeko. I am originally from Tokyo, Japan and I speak Japanese without any accents. I have been living in the UK for just over 10 years, and before that, I was in the USA for University and work, so I do speak English as well. I have recently completed a course to get a Japanese teaching certificate.

 

Since last year while I was working on my course work, I have been practicing teaching as a volunteer at a local primary school (year 4). We do all sort of things in the classroom such as to greetings, numbers, a small conversation practices, culture learning, Japanese crafts such as Origami and so on.

 

During my lessons here, I do like to arrange each lesson accordingly to what you prefer with our without the Wasabi worksheets, or just focusing on practicing conversations, how to learn (direct/indirect methods) and depending on what your targets are. I have learned so far that sometime explaining in English especially Japanese grammar makes more sense to some of you, but at the same time, some of you may prefer to learn all in Japanese. Let's get together and arrange how we start our journey of learning Japanese. It will be so much fun to learn our beautiful language, and I am sure that you will also find more interesting things such as our culture, customs, history and way of thinking and people.
